Fixed and pop-up cleats, horn cleats and fairleads in mirror-polished AISI 316 stainless steel, anodised aluminium and chromed brass. Cleats are chosen by length (from 100 to over 400 mm) according to the line diameter; fairleads by width and angle, plain or with rollers to reduce chafe. What cleat length do I need for my line?
As a manufacturers' guide, cleat length should be around 10 to 12 times the line diameter: a 14 mm line calls for a 150 to 180 mm cleat. The size is in the title of every cleat.
When is a roller fairlead worth it?
When the line works at tight angles or under constant load, for example at a stern mooring: rollers reduce friction and wear on the line.
